Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Nutrition Site Director to lead our nutrition programs at our site in the region. This pivotal role involves overseeing nutritional services, ensuring quality care, and supporting our mission to serve vulnerable populations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Arrives on time and works scheduled hours consistently.
- Opens and closes the site, ensuring equipment is shut down and the facility is left clean and orderly.
- Maintains a safe, sanitary work environment and ensures compliance with Health Department regulations and REAL Services policies.
- Oversees service, including safe food handling, temperature checks, and appropriate portions.
- Accurately tracks and reports daily meal counts, participant attendance, volunteer hours, and required forms.
- Manages financial responsibilities, including cash handling, receipts, and deposits.
- Completes and submits all reports and paperwork accurately and on schedule.
- Coordinates site programming, including guest speakers, activities, and events to support participant engagement.
- Supervises, trains, and supports volunteers, attends director meetings, and assists with supply pickup as needed.
- Other duties as may be assigned and/or requested from time to time in fulfillment of the agency’s mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position involves standing, carrying, and safely handling food, as well as maintaining a clean and orderly work area while assisting clients as needed. The Nutrition Site Director must remain alert, exercise sound judgment in emergencies, and address conflicts or medical situations appropriately. Responsibilities include planning at least two programs or activities each month, recruiting and training volunteers, and ensuring continuity of site operations. Additionally, the director oversees meal service by tracking attendance, verifying meal counts, and ensuring that all meals meet required standards.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma and/or GED
- Experience working with older adults
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to engage older adults and foster a positive environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities, with adaptability in emergency situations.
- Collaborative team player with staff and volunteers, capable of planning and coordinating activities and events.
- Basic knowledge of food safety guidelines and Department of Health requirements; familiarity with gerontology and advocacy is beneficial but not required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Successful candidate must submit to a pre-employment drug screening, limited criminal history check, driver check, National Sex Offender Registry check, SAM and OIG exclusion screenings. Must pass and maintain compliance with the agency’s background check policy.
- Proof of educational credentials is required at time of employment.
- Valid driver’s license and a dependable vehicle required.
- Must meet the Agency’s required car insurance coverage level at time employment begins and maintain it throughout the duration of employment (Liability Coverage: $100,000/$300,000/$100,000).
- This position has a 90-day probationary period.
